Derry Journal - Laptop for Ghana

 John Cartledge was the guest speaker in Fahan Presbyterian Church.
The special meeting had been publicised in the "Derry Journal" in advance of his much anticipated visit during a speaking tour to Ireland.
John, a reformed criminal and alcoholic, e-mailed us after he left Ireland with a good news story. Below is an extract from this lovely story.

Below the story about the "Derry Journal", generous Derry businessman and the laptop computer.

Knox;
The journey home was very tiring, I arrived in  Dublin around 3-00 am with a 9 hour wait until I arrived at Holyhead followed by another  two hour drive to Warrington.
On my arrival I received an email from a businessman in Derry City who had read about my visit to Fahan in the 'Derry Journal.' He wanted to be at Fahan to meet me as he supports a youngster in Tamale where we are based by paying his school fees. He explained that  because of another prior commitment he couldnt travel to Fahan to meet me in person on Sunday evening.
However, during  a phone conversation yesterday, he said, he wanted to give us a substantial financial gift for our rebuilding work in Ghana and also a laptop computer.
We had been making enquiries for some time for  laptop computers as ours had been stolen in Accra from a guest house after we had arrived at the Kotoko airport.
The Lord has blessed us in Ireland Knox .........................
We thank you for the advertisements  which resulted in making contact with the businessman in Derry City and for all you have done as a church for us to benefit financially later.
Your gifts will be used to help with all the painting, ceiling and flooring work on our return to Ghana in July.
More importantly Knox, we would ask you to remember us in prayer from time to time as we continue to provide fundamental Christian teaching materials to the people in Ghana.
My week in Ireland was a testament to the Lord who has once again provided for us financially in response to  obedience to the Spirits leading.
Much love to Roberta and the boys
