How to Photograph a Crocodile

John Cartledge, Ghana at Fahan crocodile waiting for chicken

How would you manage to have someone take your photograph with a live hungry crocodile?

John Cartledge, a missionary in Ghana, on his trip to Ireland to advertise his new book told the people at Fahan Presbyterian how the locals organise photographs for tourists.
The tourist buys two chickens, one is used to lure the croc. out of the lake where he one to be thrown to it and the other is given to the photographer as payment. The Crocodile appears content to come out of the lake, take one chicken and head back to the lake without chasing the tourist.
