Though a controversial anti-conversion bill has been put aside, it has not been entirely abandoned.  Buddhist monks with political leanings still seek to limit Christian activities by proposing policies such as the Noise Pollution Law, which prohibits the use of a sound system. However, church planting and evangelism have resulted in conversions in rural areas. This growth comes at a price, with vigorous attacks on pastors and believers by Buddhist extremists and locals.

• For encouragement for pastors and believers facing opposition because of the growth of the church
• For reconciliation between Sinhala and Tamil believers, as internally displaced peoples are rehabilitated
• For young people and children still suffering the trauma and tragedy of the civil war that ended in 2009.
