Brian has been booked to give a cookery demonstration at Fahan.
Brian McDermott is Ireland’s first Community Chef. He has been cooking professionally for 17 years, and spent most of his career on the Inishowen Peninsula where he owned his own award-winning restaurant “Finnegan’s”. He’s also cooked in places like Kealy’s famous Seafood Bar in Greencastle, Harry’s in Bridgend, played a product development role at Kerry Food Global and recently worked with Raymond Blanc at the prestigious two Michelin star restaurant - Le Manoir- in the UK. | |

“These have all been fantastic and rewarding experiences for me but at the end of the day, the role I gain most satisfaction from is in running cookery skills and nutrition projects at local level, and working with the public at demonstrations and events ” says Brian. Now he works with men and women at local level in their own communities, young people and school children, the unemployed, ethnic groups, lone parent groups and low income households. He visits trade shows, festivals, schools and community centres to give demonstrations and advice. |
