An enjoyable time was had by the guests at the afternoon tea and entertainment held just as it was getting dark outside.
The PW party for the over 60s commenced with tea consisting of a choice of a first course of home made vegetable soup or home made leek and potatoe soup both served with home made wheaten bread. Paul Breslin and the FLOUGH provided entertainment. A very popular annual event.
The second course included of a choice of home made Quiche or home made cottage pie plus salad and croquettes.
The third course was a sweets trolley containing a choice of home made seserts. Some choose one or two while others enjoyed a selection of "a little of everything, please"
As pavlova does not keep the invited guests and helpers felt a responsibility to make sure none was left for the cat.
Fresh cream and trifle was popular.
Home made apple crumble was a treat with ice cold melting ice cream went down a treat.
In addition to the refreshing fresh fruit salad was home made Christmas pudding served with custard.

The next course contained a variety of home made "tray bakes" and shortbread cut in a Christmas theme. The home made scones went down a treat.
The "red breast" robin stayed on his perch all evening. No one saw him getting any tea. He may prefer worms?
